The Mokena Community Park Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable foundation. Its mission is to raise funds to provide:
* Scholarships for Park District or Community Affiliate organizations to underprivileged
children of the community.
* Capital projects
* Landscape and beautification projects
* Scholarships for local residents attending an accreditied college or university to obtain a
degree in the Parks and Recreation field

Chi-Town Showdown Scholarship
The Foundation is proud to have been selected as the beneficiary of the new Mokena Community Park District Chi-Town Showdown 5K. Proceeds from the 5K will be used to fund the Chi-Town Showdown Scholarship. This scholarship will benefit children in the Park District community to jumpstart their path to physical fitness and athletic success. This scholarship will fund participation in a Park District athletic program, or in one of our Community Affiliate's in-house programs (MBSA or Burros).
Applicants must reside within the boundaries of the Mokena Community Park District. Please download the Scholarship Application HERE.
Applications for the 2019 Showdown Scholarship are due by May 1, 2019, and will be awarded at the Chi-town Showdown 5K on June 1, 2019..
Financial Aid for Park District Programming
The Foundation also offers full or partial assistance for needy families to participate in other Park District programming. (Tuition-based and membership-based programs excluded)
